Science
A course to enhance skills in the science areas. This course
is based on individual need. Designed to accelerate student's
success in the regular classroom.

Applied
Physics
This is the practical application of the theories of matter, energy, and their interactions. Students will participate in a hands on, practical study which will include mechanics, light, sound, heat, electricity, and magnetism. May not be used as a science requirement in the Recommended or Distinguished diplomas.

CAPS
- (Campus Assisted Program)
Curriculum-based
support group designed to educate students and reconnect them
with the school and the community to enhance the students' learning
abilities. Students work on self-esteem enhancement, decision
making, personal control, interpersonal communication, social
activities, and school bonding.

Education
This
class is taught after school during the Fall and Spring semesters.
Credit is received after completion of classroom and driving

Supplemental
curriculum to aid students in developing skills needed for college
testing and success in the workplace.

SAT/ACT/THEA
Preparation
Students will cover standardized test taking strategies specific
to the SAT/ACT/THEA, test anxiety strategies, and critical thinking
skills as needed to improve test taking skills. It will also
prepare students to be successful in the reading and writing
portions of the test specifically.

Student
Assistant - (Aide)
Students
will learn clerical skills such as filing, record keeping, and
other office related skills. Students are expected to be trustworthy,
dependable, and confidential in their work in these various
areas. Students must complete an application to be considered
for these positions. Cannot earn more then two (2) credits in
their high school career in this position. Areas of possibilities
include high school library, team managers for athletics, elementary
campus (various locations), and teachers (only if all other
locations are filled).

Weightlifting
Physical education course emphasizing muscular
strength and endurance training through the use of resistance
training. This course does not fulfill TEA physical education
requirement.
