World Geography:
A general study of the interaction of people and their physical environments in the major areas of the world. Emphasis will be on the cultural forces that shape individuals.

World Geography Advanced
A more in-depth study of World Geography. This course will emphasize higher level and critical thinking skills.

Prerequisite: Selection only

World History
A general study of the development of early civilizations, western civilization, and other world regions from their early days to the present.

Grade: 10th
Credit: 1 unit

World History Advanced
A course which emphasizes a greater depth of study than basic world history including current world issues and problems. This course will emphasize higher level and critical thinking skills as well as creative, productive thinking.

United States History
A general study of the economic, political, social, cultural, and geographic events from 1877 to the present.

Grade: 11th
Credit: 1 unit

United States History Advanced
A greater depth of study than basic United States History and higher level skills will be emphasized.

United States History - History 1301 (concurrent college)
The development of American characteristics and nationality from the early European exploration through the Reconstruction Period, 1877. (This class is taught on the Hudson HS campus and the student will earn 3 college hours).

United States Government
A study of the foundation of the United States' political system, the development of U.S. governmental system, and the structure and functions of the government.

Grade: 12th
Credit: 1/2 unit

Advanced Placement (AP) U.S. Government
An enhanced academic program which includes the regular government program as well as an in-depth look at other governments, the U.S. Constitution, the American judiciary system, and the Bill of Rights. Students are encouraged to take the AP Government Exam for college credit at the completion of this course.

Economics and Free Enterprise
A study of the basic principles concerning production, consumption, and distribution of goods and services. American and international economic systems are explored.
