Students
may exempt final exams based on the following criteria:
The student
must have been enrolled the entire semester.
The student has no
disciplinary infractions resulting in In-School Suspension (DC), Corporal
Punishment, Suspension, Disciplinary Alternative Education Placement (DAEP),
Saturday School, or other disciplinary action deemed to remove this privilege.
The student has no
more than two (2) days or parts of days absent from school.
The only exceptions are school related/extracurricular absences, co-curricular,
and absences defined as "excused" per Texas Education Code 25.087.
Students absent for medical reasons must be present for part of
the school day and return documentation from a medical professional.
All day absences, including hospitalizations, do not count as medical
absences and will count as one of the two days or parts of days allowed.
The student must
maintain an 85 average in the class that he/she wants to exempt. Students
are not required to exempt the final exams.
Students must meet all of these criteria to be eligible
for the exemption. A listing will be posted and given to the teachers
one week prior to the exams.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Students who are eligible for exemption must be present and
in the classroom from 10:00 until 10:30. Failure to do this will result
in an absence and may disqualify a student for any exemptions. This
will be non-negotiable.
