Site-Based Decision Making Team Meeting Minutes
August 26, 2004

Present: Bill Newell, Teri Rich, Abby Swan, Joellen Stubblefield, Charlotte Anderson, Felicia Ward, Liz Darr, Gayle Sims, P.T. Walters, and Donny Webb

The consequences for students that are tardy to class were discussed.

The following will be implemented:
Students will not be penalized for up to three tardies per semester. After the third tardy, students will be assigned to lunch detention for each additional tardy. If the student misses lunch detention, then after school detention will be assigned. This detention will be held on Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. If the student misses after school detention, then the student may lose their parking permit for two weeks, have a conference with parents and school officials, and/or other disciplinary actions.

All students, even those exempt from exams, must be present from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. during exemption periods.

There was discussion on student tutorials. Areas of concern are TAKS failures, especially the at-risk population, and students with failing grades.

The site-based team was in favor of a waiver to allow the school to check role for funding purposes at 1:00 during the three days of TAKS testing. Mr. Webb will complete the paperwork on filing the waiver.
