Procedures for Summer

2015 Summer polices and procedures:

1. Teacher Computers in classrooms/ labs

  • DO NOT disconnect your computers, leave them as they are
  • DO NOT unplug network cables
  • DO NOT unplug computers from power
  • DO NOT turn power strips connecting computers to outlets off
  • DO NOT put plastic bags over your computers
  • DO NOT move computers from one room to another
  • DO turn your monitors off, DO NOT unplug monitors
HDOT will be doing much of our summer work remotely.  We can turn the computers off and on from our offices so if your computers are unplugged or the powerstrips are turned off they will not get the critical updates they need over the summer. If they are wrapped in plastic and get powered on they will overheat and burn up. If you are an overachiever and have already begun disconnecting stuff just STOP! If you need help putting it all back together send in a trouble ticket.
LEAVE YOUR COMPUTERS IN SUCH A STATE THAT ONE COULD SIMPLY PUSH THE BUTTON ON THE FRONT OF THE MACHINE TO TURN IT ON.

2.  CARTS
All computer, netbook, macbook, carts should be moved to a centralized location on the campuses.  Notify HDOT of storage location.now.
The carts are going to be systematically transported to HDOT shop for reimaging and then returned except for the netbooks which are going to be decommissioned.

3.  UNPLUG
Unplug ALL overhead projectors, Elmos
IPad trays and carts, laptop carts, printers, and speakers. Turn off all lights (even if on motion sensors).
